Sumukha Tumkur Vani is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for computer networks and operating systems. She is currently working at Microsoft as a Software Engineer 2, where she is involved in building the next generation network infrastructure for Azure. Sumukha's current focus is on the SONiC project, which is an open source network operating system that is part of the Open Compute Project. Sumukha's experience in computer networking and operating systems is extensive, and she has a strong research background in high-performance networking. Her work at Brown University focused on designing an index structure for key-value stores specifically for RDMA networks. This work has been published by ACM in SIGMOD '19. Sumukha's previous experience includes working at Oracle as a Software Developer and Software Developer Intern. During her time at Oracle, she worked on developing Infiniband device drivers and system software for the Solaris OS. She also developed a framework to profile the performance of Infiniband channel adapters. Sumukha holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Brown University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering.
